The Takeover IS Happening And The Incoming Statement Could Well Be An Announcement

05/07/2019

It has been over a month since the BZG were reported by The Sun to have bought Newcastle United. In the weeks following that, the BZG themselves posted two statements. The group have now retreated back into the shadows to make sure Ashley doesn't have an excuse to turn the tables. As the weeks pass by, The roller coaster of emotions is growing increasingly unpredictable and now we are supposedly about to receive the third statement.

Why The BZG ARE Most Likely About To Complete The Takeover?

  • Ashley Would NOT Spend £100 Million Pounds - The first reason i believe the takeover is on is because there is absolutely no way that the FCB himself would pay 100 million pounds in the transfer budget. Sources this week claimed that the budget would reach triple figures in millions. Ashley is a business man after all and last time he invested this much on transfers, we got relegated under McLaren in 2015/16. He would have learnt from his mistake. This is most likely to make him leave a somewhat 'good' guy.
  • The Group Will Not Have Got The Tests 'mixed up' - The Bin Zayed Group are part of the royal family in Dubai so that means they have a very large and very good law team. This means that reports suggesting that the group had got the 'fit and proper test' mixed up with the 'owner's and director's test' has to be utterly fake. There is no way you could get these mixed up. One is a test where there is an offer in place and its a basic background check whilst the other is a test that is in the closing stages of a takeover. The Fit and Proper test can reportedly take up to a month and a half. I believe that the BZG are in the closing stages of a takeover.

"Terms have been agreed between us and Mike Ashley ; these terms have been reflected in a document, signed by both parties, which has been forwarded to the Premier League. The so called fit-and-proper Premier League process is a standard procedure which will take time, and we are doing all we can to assist the Premier League during this process." - Midhat Kidwai MD of Bin Zayed Group

Overall, I believe a takeover WILL be complete this time next Friday and that the reason a statement/announcement has not been revealed yet is because the UAE royal family are in a period of mourning. According to @dubaigeordie on Twitter that both parties need to agree before they release a statement which suggests two things: A deal is close and the statement could well be an announcement and two: Ashley is going to let this play out in public (very unlikely)
